Please note that some days the trail is closed to the public ! All major events move their groups Thursday and Friday from Loon Lake towards Rubicon Springs and on Sunday from Rubicon Springs to Lake Tahoe. So, don't even try to driveThursday or Friday towards Loon or Sunday towards Rubicon Springs. You will have to wait forever until traffic has passed.
