Cell phone reception
Neither in Georgetown nor anywhere along the trail you will be able to use your cell phone. If you must stay in touch with your wife, your dog, your boss at all times you will have to climb one of the many mountain tops. Some of my clients have been up there and have gotten calls out.
For emergencies I carry a satellite phone and have FM radios with me to contact emergency crews like helicopter etc.
