Avoid getting frustrated

When you see me or another helpful spotter giving you directions - move your steering wheel in small increments of 2 inches each into the direction indicated. Keep adding minor steering moves as long as the finger keeps pointing. Stop moving the steering wheel when your spotter stops pointing.

The biggest mistake novice drivers make, is that they turn the steering wheel rapidly about 90 degrees when a spotter starts pointing. That's way too much. Only triggering the spotter to immediately point into the other direction. And the driver will once more over react and turn 90 degrees back. Too much again. The spotter will now point out the previous direction. That will make the driver jank the steering back 90 degrees. About now the driver will get frustrated about the constantly changing direction. "What do you want? Make up your mind!" he/she might start shouting.

Spare yourself that frustration and move your steering wheel only in very small increments.

However,: If the finger giving you directions starts moving fast - move your steering faster.
