Starting up FJ40

"Prehistoric" cars need a little different treatment to start them.

They are carbureted and like a few pumps of gas before you start the engine. So please pump the gast gently about three times before you turn the ignition key. Please do so every time.

Pump three times (please be gentle - no need to hit the pedal hard)




Now start the car.


See slightly different procedure for the Jeep CJ7

The Jeep Wrangler is fuel injected and does not need the "pump" action.
